Hello dear wedding guest.
If you are reading this, you’ve received our amazing Save-the-Date! I hope you like it as much as we do. They were designed by my very talented friend and Art Director, Leila. She designs all day and did those for us on her own time at night. They turned out better than we could have ever expected, so thank you so much Leila!
Hopefully, you are now intrigued and are contemplating about whether you want to be part of the Frasian Wedding.
To our Calgary friends and family, we speak to you especially because we realize it’s not going to be quite as easy for you. We know flights, hotels and babysitters will need to be arranged and booked—all debits on your time, money and precious vacation days. Knowing all this and perhaps because we’re selfish, and most definitely because your presence would complete our day, we’re asking anyways.
Aside from selling our Calgarian invitees on an October Montreal wedding, this blog will also serve a few other purposes in the upcoming months. It will give me a much needed writing outlet; one which I think will be increasingly necessary as the wedding gets closer. It’s also a quick and efficient way of giving our guests updates on what’s happening as it happens (so follow the blog). Our plan is to post hotel rates, flight deals, questions etc. as they arise. But the main and most important reason is because we want to share with ALL of our guests, our journey, as we prepare for what we hope will be an extraordinarily wonderful and special day.
In case you didn’t know, it has taken us a LONG time to get here. My closest girlfriends will attest, up until this point, it was impossible for me not to openly grimace anytime anyone asked me how the wedding planning was going. A sunny destination wedding, eloping to Santorini, a secret civil ceremony and living in sin perpetually were all potential plans that we were harbouring and seriously considering. In the end, we decided that regardless of location and linguistic difficulties, we were going to bring/force our friends and family altogether for one potentially awkward, magnificent, crazy party.
So that’s it. We’re finally doing it.
October 4, 2014.
Yes, it’s probably the worst day you can pick to get married as a Chinese person, but it also happens to be our anniversary and will mark six years that Sebastien and I have been together.
We’re not giving away too many of the details right now (mainly because we don’t have any). Please check back here as often as possible for exclusive offerings of my personal musings and for exciting wedding updates.
Sage advice and escape plans always welcome.
Until next time.
Your favourite Frasians,
Levan & Sebastien
Here they are again, once more for your viewing pleasure. Does the font look familiar?
